This role is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a reimbursement initiative for student loan payments.

Program Approval: Award amounts (up to $200,000) and eligibility periods (ranging from one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office following a comprehensive review of the EDRP application.
Compensation and Benefits:
VA provides a comprehensive total rewards package, including:

Key Responsibilities:
The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS) is seeking a full-time physician in Primary Care. The physician will be responsible for managing the medical care of a designated panel of patients.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting patient histories and physical examinations.
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Managing both acute and chronic illnesses.
- Performing minor outpatient clinical procedures.
- Leading telehealth initiatives and VA community care consults.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts, primarily during weekdays, with potential extended hours in the evenings or on Saturdays. Total hours will not exceed 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the basic requirements, including:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State or territory.
- Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience:
Candidates with residency training and board certification in Internal Medicine are preferred. Experience with current technology and teaching experience in acute and ambulatory settings is also desirable.
Physical Requirements:
The role is primarily office-based and sedentary, requiring the ability to use a computer for electronic clinical charting.
