Position Overview:
As a Valet Parking Attendant, you will deliver exceptional, courteous, and empathetic service to patients, visitors, and guests, adhering to the standards set by TJC, ABM, and the Hospital. Your proactive approach in greeting and assisting customers will ensure a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage traffic flow in valet areas and hospital entrances.
  • Ensure the front driveway remains clear by controlling traffic, monitoring illegal parking, and securely storing vehicles.
  • Welcome all guests; inquire about their destination and provide directions.
  • Inform guests about valet and self-parking options, relevant services, operational hours, and after-hours key retrieval.
  • Assist with employee and transport van drop-off and pick-up, directing deliveries to the appropriate areas.
  • Organize the distribution of keys among the valet team.
  • Authorize breaks for valet staff and communicate shift changes as needed.
  • Anticipate and report peak traffic times and parking lot issues.
  • Identify and arrange additional support during extended wait times.
  • Accurately manage and distribute the tip pool.
  • Process various valet payments and provide receipts.
  • Prepare daily cash reports and reconcile all forms of payment, including cash, checks, and vouchers.
  • Project currency and coin needs and reorder supplies as necessary.
  • Safely operate, park, and retrieve vehicles while adhering to traffic laws and facility policies.
  • Ensure every guest receives outstanding service by fostering a welcoming environment, greeting, and thanking everyone.
  • Assist guests with car doors, wheelchairs, strollers, and personal belongings.
  • Maintain a clean work area free of debris.

Qualifications:
  • Effective communication of valet policies and information to hospital patients and guests.
  • Ability to uphold expectations within policy and procedure guidelines.

  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to work in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Meet health requirements such as TB tests and screenings.
  • Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform job functions throughout the shift.
  • Minimum education requirement: high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Background checks may disqualify applicants with certain felony convictions.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license meeting company standards.
  • Ability to operate both standard and automatic transmission vehicles, if required.
