Mental Health Therapist

UTMB Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will be responsible for providing mental health evaluation and therapeutic intervention to patients. You will work under the supervision of a Psychologist, Mental Health Manager and/or Program Director.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the success of the UTMB Correctional Managed Care operation.
- Interview, evaluate, and diagnose patients identified as having mental health needs.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy and crisis intervention.
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Treatment Plans.
- Assist with training and education of mental health, medical, and other staff.
- Assist in the implementation of Quality Improvement/Quality Management (QI/QM) programs and the monitoring of compliance with required policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide routine consultation and communication with supervisor and/or attending psychiatric provider regarding the status of assigned patients.
- Complete clinically appropriate and timely documentation.
- Liaise with patient, patient families, on-site departments, and community agencies to coordinate current treatment and/or facilitate aftercare services.
- Adhere to internal controls and reporting structure established for department.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, or Social Worker.
- Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
