Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Leader

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is at the forefront of manufacturing innovation. Our Skunk Works division is dedicated to enhancing processes and performance while reducing costs through advanced techniques in composites, additive manufacturing, and high-temperature structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing engineering team, supporting various programs.
- Drive organizational goals and provide support to business unit clients.
- Coordinate projects, conduct process evaluations, and lead initiatives for process enhancements related to manufacturing projects in production.
- Set the pace for the engineering team and collaborate across functions with production engineering, operations, quality assurance, and production control.
- Manage departmental budgets and schedule resources to meet program requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for manufacturing engineering issues during AS9100 audits and DCMA reviews.
Basic Qualifications:
- Proven experience in aerospace manufacturing or production engineering, collaborating with various disciplines such as industrial engineering, planning, and quality assurance.
- Expertise in developing and executing manufacturing plans.
- Familiarity with engineering blueprints, producibility, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on effective communication and decision-making.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with advanced composites, structures, systems, and coatings manufacturing.
- Knowledge in tool design, vehicle assembly, and component fabrication.
- Background in lean manufacturing practices and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with planning tools such as Computer Aided Production Planning (CAPP) and Shop Order Maintenance (SOM).
Security Clearance:
This position requires a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens.
Work Environment:
This role is performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility, supporting a variety of flexible work schedules.
