Job Description and Duties

The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is seeking a highly skilled Water and Sewage Plant Operator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining water and sewage treatment plants, ensuring the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater and drinking water.

Working Conditions

This position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Special Requirements
  • Medical Clearance: You must be medically cleared prior to being hired.
  • Respiratory Protection Equipment: You must be annually medically cleared to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment.
  • Certifications: You must possess a valid State of California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate, Water Treatment Operator (Grade II) Certificate, and a Water Distribution Operator (Grade I) Certificate.
