Job Summary

This role involves performing a variety of tasks in the controlling and monitoring of chemicals within the company facility or manufacturing production organization in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor chemicals, related equipment, and waste system indicators to ensure proper system functioning and chemical solution balance.
  • Make chemical additions to process tanks and record data.
  • Verify pressure drops on paint booths and differential pressure on scrubbers.
  • Conduct analysis on various WWTP streams to maintain POTW compliance.
  • Hazardous waste labeling and identification.
  • Work with production to ensure hazardous waste drums are moved in a timely manner.
  • Perform weekly chemical inventory.
  • Maintain boiler maintenance and chemicals.
  • Rebuild pumps and do routine maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain caustic regeneration system.
  • Respond to any spills or leaks in a professional and legal manner.
Requirements

A good understanding of chemicals (acids, bases, oxidizers, flammables, reducers, water-reactive) in a variety of forms (liquids, solids, gases, sludges, slurries) and related incompatibilities to prevent undesirable chemical reactions is required.

Work is performed in occasional hazardous working conditions and requires the use of specialized safety equipment and apparatuses.
