**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team at Highmark Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based solution architectures through automation tools like Terraform or Ansible and versioning control via GitLab or similar tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Architecture and Engineering: Engineer and implement cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, deployment of cloud resources, and application optimizations that utilize automation technologies and enable business objectives.
- Cloud Resource Management: Work to define cloud resource procurement and performance patterns through monitoring and tracking of usage and trends to optimize cloud spend and resource efficiency.
- Cloud Solutions and Innovation: Propose ideas, designs, and solutions to lead engineers and management to further cloud service utilization and optimization.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and other repeatable patterns to enable application and service teams to deploy software and services into cloud environments.
- Research and Analysis: Perform research and analysis required for new cloud deployment proposals, existing cloud service modification, and other new cloud adoption to ultimately provide sound recommendations on best course of action.
- Incident, Problem, and Change Management: Level 3 incident, problem, and change management as it pertains to the responsibilities of the cloud operations engineering team.
- Mentorship and Training: General mentorship and periodic training of less senior Cloud Operation Engineers.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Cloud Computing, Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or closely related discipline.
- Experience: Experience providing operational support of at least two of the following Cloud Service Providers: Google Cloud Platform, Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Oracle.
- Skills: Strong scripting experience along with interest and ability to learn other programming languages as needed. GitLab or other versioning control tools and processes. Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies. Terraform, Ansible, or other automation technologies. Skills in infrastructure support, such as OS, Virtualization, or Networking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cloud Service Certification: GCP, AWS, Azure, or other Cloud Service Certification.
- Automation Tool Certification: Terraform, Ansible, or other automation tool certification.
Pay Range:
Minimum: $78,900.00
Maximum: $146,000.00
