Job Summary

Ergon, Inc. is seeking a skilled Boiler Controls Technician to join its Corporate Maintenance department in Inman, South Carolina. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing boilers, heaters, and other fired equipment at Ergon facilities across the US.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a family-owned oil and gas company that values teamwork and collaboration. As a Boiler Controls Technician, you will work closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Ergon's facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, repair, and troubleshoot boilers, heaters, and fired equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of service and repairs
  • Work with customers, co-workers, and associates to develop strong working relationships
  • Recognize tasks outside of normal job duties and assist others when applicable
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED and a valid Driver's license
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in servicing boilers and fired equipment
  • Proficient with electrical multi-meter and 120vac and low voltage control circuitry
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, experience with VFDs, PLCs, single loop controllers, and other electronic controls desired
  • Demonstrate good communication and organizational skills
  • Capable of lifting or moving objects that weigh 50 pounds or more and perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and climbing tanks or other structures
  • Capable of working extensive overtime, up to 80 hours, and weekends when needed
  • Willing to routinely travel to facilities (typically up to a week) as needed to perform job function
