About the Team

The Grocery Outlet Recruiting & Training team is tasked with hiring and developing Aspiring Operator Trainees (AOTs). Our AOT's are the crucial pipeline of Independent Store Owners.

We have a very rigorous selection and development approach, accomplished by robust sourcing and assessment, facilitating scalable learning and development, cultivating and communicating best practices and leveraging our unique culture.

Our goal is to serve the AOT and Operator communities with integrity and accuracy while focusing on continual improvement, collaboration and FUN The recruiting team is responsible for finding candidates who have a passion for grocery retail and an entrepreneurial spirit.

The team fully educates AOT Candidates on the realities of Owning/Operating a Grocery Outlet store successfully, facilitates the relationship between AOTs and their Training Store Operators, provides an opportunity for families to build a business together, and foster the continuing development of an exceptional Operator network.

Our training team develops blended training programs includes operator/mentor-lead in store immersion, classroom-based instructor lead facilitation with on-line supplemental learning.

Training focuses on developing business acumen, along with leadership, merchandising, and marketing skills.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of the Field Recruiting Sourcing Specialist is to assist the team of recruiters to identify and screen qualified leads for the Grocery Outlet Aspiring Operators in Training (AOT's) program.

Grocery Outlet is a rapidly growing discount retailer with aggressive plans of new store growth and continued development of our existing stores.

Our stores are independently operated by entrepreneurial retailers looking for an opportunity to build an amazing future for themselves.

The Field Recruiting Sourcing Specialist position demands an uncommon balance of creativity and drive, along with excellent interpersonal skills and a real passion for connecting with people.

This role reports to the Manager - AOT Recruiting.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Identify Talent & Recruit for Grocery Outlet Store Ownership
  • Source candidates through networking, creative cold-calling, internet postings, industry events, etc.
  • Provide guidance and direction to recruiters to help bring on the best possible talent for Grocery Outlet
  • Identify up to 150 new leads weekly seeking and screening qualified candidates and networking throughout the media industry
  • Provide detailed research and analysis of candidates in the pipeline for recruiting team
  • Utilize and train on CRM system (Salesforce) to manage lead workflow and provide regular reporting to goals
  • Schedule interviews of AOT prospects with appropriate Sr. Recruiter
  • Process and manage compliance of all screenings and interviewing forms and files of AOT's and AOT prospects
  • Educate candidates on the Grocery Outlet model while determining mutual fit for the AOT program
  • Evaluate candidate eligibility from an experience, financial and logistics perspective
  • Manage search firm communications and the resultant candidates
  • Additional administrative duties
About The Pay

Base Salary Range: $ Hourly

401(k) Profit Sharing

Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.

About You

Ability to generate relationships with qualified candidates to independently run their own grocery retail business

1-2 years proven sourcing/recruiting experience in a corporate environment, implementing a wide range of staffing programs

1-year experience in a staffing agency environment preferred

Proven training and recruiting skills. Exceptional interpersonal and selling skills

Previous use of CRM systems such as Salesforce preferred

Ability to handle customer relationship management, provide strong customer consultative skills and work in a large team environment

Solid understanding of lead generation

Previous management experience in grocery retail operations preferred

Exceptionally strong computer skills, i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Internet

Understand and communicate the concept of business ownership to candidates

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy. In addition, teamwork skills are a must along with the ability to grasp new technologies

Demonstrated, common sense and good judgment. Self-starter, very organized and results driven

Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands
