A healthcare facility is seeking coverage for Gastroenterology locum tenens services.
Compensation:
$4500 per day
Specialty: Gastroenterology
Facility Overview:
- Utilizes Electronic Medical Records: Epic
- Other Specialties Available: Interventional Radiology (IR) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Anesthesiology Support: Yes, with sedation services
- Mid-Level Provider Assistance: Available for inpatient services, consultations, and follow-ups
Position Details:
- Priority Level: High
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Acceptable Credentials: DO, MD
- Coverage Requirement: 24-hour call coverage only (7am-7am), no outpatient responsibilities
- Anticipated Shifts: 7 per month
- Response Time for Calls: 30 minutes
- Privileges: Full Privileges available
Candidate Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible
- State Licensure: Required (Pennsylvania)
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- DEA Registration: Required
- Additional Preferences:
- ERCP experience preferred
- To facilitate timely onboarding, applications should be submitted promptly. Temporary privileges are available.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Duties: Hospital call coverage, consultations, and necessary procedures
- Rounding: Required during on-call hours (includes patients admitted to the floors and those in the ED)
- Average Admissions During Call: Approximately 10
- Estimated Rounding Duration: About 1-2 hours daily
- Average Patient Interactions per Shift: Around 15, including mid-level provider support

- Adult Patient Percentage: 100%
- Pediatric Patient Percentage: 0%
Procedures Involved:
- Colonoscopy
- EGD
- ERCP (preferred)
- PEGs
