Responsibilities

Each individual performs waived, moderate, or highly complex tests authorized by CA, Bus. & Prof. Code. They must possess a degree of skill commensurate with individual's education, training or experience and technical abilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment
  • Reviewing the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting
  • Ensuring that testing of proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures
Qualifications

Requires - minimum one-year work experience performing high complexity testing in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology, or have trained at an approved internship training program. Bachelor's Degree in biological science, chemical, physical, biological science, Medical Laboratory Technology and/or equivalent from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in California Code of Registration, Title 17, Section 1032, Clinical Laboratory Scientist (generalist). Requires current and valid California State License.

Competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $48.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
