Key Responsibilities- Prepare Quotes: Gather necessary information from senior estimators/PMs to prepare quotes for customers.
- RFQ Package Preparation: Gather related specifications from customers and documents to prepare RFQ packages for estimation.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Collect and analyze information to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate quotes.
- Quote Drafting and Communication: Draft and email clear quotes to customers, including accurate details needed to receive pricing from capable suppliers.
- Supplier and Customer Communication: Effectively communicate with suppliers, customers, and co-workers to obtain information necessary to complete pre-quoting tasks.
- Material and Time Requirements: Identify material and time requirements by communicating with the estimating team and customer.
- Quote Assembly and Delivery: Send completed quotations via email to customers by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- RFQ File Maintenance: Maintain RFQ files by converting, organizing, and saving information according to company's electronic system.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends/technology of the industry.
- Team Collaboration: Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results while maintaining a positive and professional company image.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent and construction industry experience required. Construction Management degree a plus.
- Technical Skills: Experience in utilizing Auto/CAD and other drafting tools preferred. Ability to read drawings and analyze specifications.
- Math Skills: Must have math skills, including multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, and conversion of units of measure.
- Communication Skills: Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-Oriented: Detail-oriented, ability to multitask, and have flexibility.
- Time Management: Time management skills, prioritize responsibilities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Logical Troubleshooting: Logical troubleshooting skills.
- Estimating Knowledge: Possess a working understanding of estimating, cost accounting, and labor costs associated with construction.
- Accountability: Strong accountability for delivery of promised actions and a reputation for prompt follow-up.
As an Estimator Assistant at Outside The Box, LLC, you will work on various construction projects using a variety of construction systems, in different environments and regional areas. You will be responsible for working on general and specialized construction, including new construction, interior/exterior renovations/rehabilitations, tenant improvements, and system upgrades.
