Critical Care Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Heart Hospital of Austin. As a critical member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in need.
Job SummaryAs a Critical Care Respiratory Therapist, you will perform complex procedures related to cardiopulmonary diseases, including setting up and operating various types of respiratory care equipment. You will assess patients appropriately, interpret results accurately, and suggest alternative respiratory treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine patient assessments and recognize and interpret respiratory dysfunction
- Demonstrate competency in proper airway care and manage patients with life-threatening conditions
- Communicate effectively with physicians and nurses about patient care plans and updates
To be successful as a Critical Care Respiratory Therapist, you must have the following qualifications:
- Graduate of an American Medical Association accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for NICU RRT Staff
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for ICU RRT staff
