Hotel Night Auditor

We are seeking a skilled Night Auditor to oversee the reconciliation of all hotel cashier transactions, compile and review management reports, and ensure the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of financial information and data, as well as basic arithmetic functions.
• Be willing to cross-train in other accounting or hotel-related areas to enhance skillset.
• Prioritize job functions efficiently to meet deadlines and deliver results.
• Perform guest services functions as required, including check-in/check-out, taking reservations, handling wake-up calls, etc.
• Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare and distribute necessary daily reports according to hotel standards, including Daily Operating Report, Discount Programs, Tax Reports, etc.
• Compile and distribute month-end reports for management review.
• Audit and reconcile Front Desk and Food & Beverage Cashiers work on a regular basis.
• Ensure accurate and timely transmission of credit card information.
• Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
• Verify the accuracy of all reported numbers, including statistics.
• Update financial information into corporate communications network promptly.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data processing system functions as required.
• Keep management informed of any unusual operational or financial events that may impact hotel operations.
• Foster an environment of excellent guest satisfaction.
• Respond to governmental inquiries upon receipt.
• Address guest requests and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is required.
• Guest Service Experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer skills is essential.
• The ability to work flexible hours, including long shifts, may be required.
• Sedentary work involving occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds is expected.
• Late/overnight shift work is a requirement.
• Display a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and guests in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
• Listen attentively to concerns raised by employees and guests, and provide clear responses.
• Prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines.
• Approach interactions with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, and service-oriented way.
• Attend all hotel-required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Highgate Hotel Standards.
• Adhere to Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
• Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary.
• Apply complex information from various sources to meet objectives.
• Cross-train in other hotel-related areas to enhance skillset.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs.
• Perform additional duties as requested by management.

Estimated Salary: $18.00-$20.00/hr.
