Kroger - KB Specialty Foods is looking for a dedicated Safety and Compliance Specialist to oversee safety protocols and compliance measures at our manufacturing facility.

Position Overview: This role is pivotal in managing safety initiatives and ensuring adherence to compliance standards in line with OSHA and company policies. The individual will play a crucial role in achieving plant safety objectives, thereby enhancing overall performance in Safety, Quality, and Reliability. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safety updates and assist with compliance-related inquiries as necessary.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of required reports, surveys, and audits for regulatory bodies.
  • Support the formulation and upkeep of the Emergency Response Plan in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a foundational understanding of relevant FDA, OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
  • Assist in managing the Respiratory Protection Plan, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Facilitate the development, implementation, and training of safety policies and procedures.
  • Aid in compliance efforts with state and federal EPA regulations, including necessary reporting obligations.
  • Assist in gathering and submitting data for annual EPA reports (e.g., Section 311, 312, and 313 reporting).
  • Engage in the investigation of incidents and accidents, helping to identify root causes and corrective measures.
  • Support the safety team in ongoing initiatives to enhance behavioral and physical safety processes.
  • Participate in internal safety audits and inspections to detect potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work in proximity to ingredients and/or finished products that may contain allergens.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in Behavioral Based Safety is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements with the ability to interpret safety documentation.
  • Strong capacity to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic organizational, planning, and facilitation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Training is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in compliance, regulatory, and safety roles.
