Job Title: Substation Manager

At Sterling Engineering Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Substation Manager to lead our team in the design, development, and implementation of substation projects. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering and project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement substation design and development strategies to meet project requirements.
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers to design and develop substation projects, including physical design, P&C design, and equipment replacement.
  • Perform site surveys and develop concept designs for major upgrade projects.
  • Prepare complete cost estimates for large-scale substation projects.
  • Enforce and maintain all applicable standards and codes for O&M, replacement/renewal, and new installations.
  • Develop and review complex electrical system models and validate various system study findings/recommendations.
  • Develop electrical specifications for major electrical apparatus.
  • Schedule and attend field walk-downs with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel.
  • Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation.
  • Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and review the work of up to 5 engineers and designers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent and 10 years of related working experience.
  • Project experience with electrical transmission line project design for major utility companies.
