We are seeking a skilled Groundperson/Laborer to join our team at Traffic Control Devices. As a Groundperson/Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the traffic signal construction field, performing a variety of tasks and contributing to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Hand and Power Tools: You will be responsible for operating a range of hand and power tools, including those used for digging, backfilling, and compacting earth.
- Follow Construction Plans and Instructions: You will need to follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Load and Unload Construction Equipment: You will be responsible for loading and unloading construction equipment, including trucks and other vehicles.
- Dig Trenches and Backfill Holes: You will need to dig trenches and backfill holes to prepare for construction, using a range of tools and equipment.
- Set Up Traffic Control Devices: You will be responsible for setting up traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barricades, to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Job Site: You will need to help maintain a clean and safe job site, including disposing of waste and ensuring that all equipment is properly stored.
- Age: You must be at least 18 years old to apply for this position.
- Ability to Learn: You will need to be able to learn how to accurately read plans and specifications, and understand construction procedures.
- Comfortable Working Outside: You will need to be comfortable working outside in various climates, including extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Prior Experience: Prior experience in the underground utilities/construction field is preferred, but not required.
- Experience Operating Equipment: Experience operating essential construction equipment and tools is also preferred.
