Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Laboratory Technician to join our team at Dayton Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Clinical Nutrition Lab, you will be responsible for the preparation, distribution, and management of enteral nutrition products, including human milk, formulas, and additives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize bar code scanning software to manage receipt, storage, preparation, labeling, and delivery of human milk.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safe practices and protocols.
  • Calculate and prepare feedings, following precise calculations and recipes.
  • Store prepared feedings in temperature-controlled environments and discard expired feedings according to protocol.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing, parent, dietitian, and medical provider teams regarding feedings and recipes.
  • Collect and ship donated human milk, adhering to established protocols.
  • Think critically and problem-solve while adhering to policies and processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to breastfeeding mothers, maintaining a positive and empathetic attitude.
  • Work collaboratively with department personnel, managing multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
  • NDTR Certification preferred.
  • 2 years' experience in nutrition/medical education or applicable area (dietetics, human milk technician, clinical laboratory, biosciences, pharmacy lab, patient care or medical assistant).
