We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Waterloo, IA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching, and making necessary referrals to ensure continuity of care.

Our ideal candidate will have a collaborative approach to developing individual plans of care, utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality care while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned units. You will also be responsible for utilizing a holistic approach to care, considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients and families served.

Development and Patient Education

We value continuous professional development and encourage our team members to share knowledge through networking and research. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for assessing and choosing teaching strategies appropriate to the patient's and their families' age-specific needs, culture, gender, readiness to learn, and level of comprehension. You will also consult appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.

We prioritize patient and workplace safety, and our team members are expected to prevent errors, accidents, and infections, and report potential or actual concerns immediately. Our Ultrasound Technologist will demonstrate the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors, adhere to policies and procedures, and safety guidelines.

Requirements
  • 1 year current hospital/Ultrasound Tech/Vascular experience - Required
  • Needs both vascular, general, and ob experience
