SSM Health is seeking a skilled Perioperative Nurse Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide direct assistance to surgeons before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Responsibilities- Position patients to provide optimal exposure for surgical procedures, using stabilizing equipment as needed to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Implement physicians' orders to provide visualization of the operative site, utilizing appropriate techniques for tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation.
- Assist with body plane closure, application of wound dressings, and securing of drainage systems.
- Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to deliver patient-centered care, ensuring that nursing care is tailored to the patient's age-specific needs and clinical requirements.
- Completion of an RNFA program that meets AORN standards for RN first assistant education.
- Two years' registered nurse experience in an advanced surgical specialty or completion of an APRN program with RNFA certification.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification and Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
