Job Summary

The Lead Direct Support Professional-Behavior Specialist is responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, personal care, and program implementation. This role requires a strong understanding of client needs and the ability to provide person-centered services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily cares, medical needs, and supports, including ADLs and mental health supports.
  • Develop and implement daily routines that promote choice and independence.
  • Plan and implement recreation, leisure, and community activities that meet client needs and interests.
  • Drive clients to appointments and community activities using a company vehicle.
  • Assist clients in establishing and maintaining community relationships and friendships.
  • Provide person-centered services and maintain a working knowledge of client history, skills, and vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in the support team process and assist with developing and implementing goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and MORA policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Must pass a Department of Human Services background check and maintain qualified status.
  • Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must be able to successfully complete company's basic job skills assessment.
  • Must have a current valid driver's license and insurance as required by state law.
  • Must be able to complete training on specific mental health diagnoses for clients supported.
