Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning
    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and psychological conditions to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
  • Medication Management
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with hospital policies.
    • Monitor patients' responses to medications and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Education and Support
    • Provide education and support to patients and their families on health-related topics and disease management.
    • Encourage patients to take an active role in their care and make informed decisions about their health.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
    • Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a geriatric psychiatric unit.
  • Licensure
    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Rhode Island.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Skills
    • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
