The Community Programs division is dedicated to managing the Blue Shield Promise Health Plan Information Resource Center (IRC). The IRC serves as a vital link for Blue Shield Promise members and the Los Angeles community, offering classes and tailored services that promote community engagement, address social needs, and encourage a healthy, informed lifestyle. The Blue Shield Promise Representative plays a crucial role in providing face-to-face assistance to members and consumers visiting the IRC. This support encompasses a range of services, including health plan member assistance, benefits explanation, enrollment support, and referrals to social services and care planning. Additionally, the Representative is involved in engaging members through select quality events and participating in sponsored initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
In this capacity, you will:
- Deliver training support for live interactions.
- Address escalated concerns that cannot be resolved by Intermediate Information Resource Center Representatives.
- Manage special processing tasks and coordinate with Medical Management, Pharmacy Services, Claims, and Installation and Billing as necessary.
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of special events at the Information Resource Centers.
- Support facility operations, including supply ordering, documentation of procedures, and processing vendor invoices.
- Contribute to the organization and hosting of unique quality events and participate in both on-site and off-site activities.
- Assist in the development of programming for the center.
- Help identify and evaluate potential vendors for programming initiatives at the center.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required.
- A comprehensive understanding of operational systems and practices typically acquired through extensive experience and/or education is necessary.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required, demonstrated by successful completion of an oral language proficiency assessment upon hire.
- Knowledge and experience with Medi-Cal are essential.
- Experience with community resource centers is highly preferred.
- A background in customer service is strongly preferred.
- Experience in program development is highly regarded.
- A positive attitude, flexibility, professionalism, and reliability in all workplace activities are essential attributes.
Compensation Range:
The compensation range for this position is: $22.69 to $31.77 for California.
Important Note:
This range reflects the compensation for this and other positions at Blue Shield that fall within this pay grade. Salaries at Blue Shield are determined by various factors, including the candidate's experience, location, and current employee salaries for similar roles.
