Education Support Specialist

The Education Support Specialist plays a vital role in the Children's Service Team at York County Community Action Corp, providing classroom support to teachers working with children ages six weeks to five years as needed.
This dynamic position requires a detail-oriented individual who can contribute to ensuring the agency's full compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards and Maine State Licensing Requirements.
We are seeking an experienced professional with excellent communication skills to work closely with teachers, staff, and families to promote a nurturing and educational environment.
Your Responsibilities- Provide 4-6 hours of daily classroom support to teachers, assisting with lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Contribute to creating a safe and engaging learning environment that meets the needs of all children, including those with special needs.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children ages six weeks to five years.
- Experience working in early childhood education or a related field is highly valued.
- Must be able to travel and have reliable transportation.
- Immunized against MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis).
- Must pass a background check, including DHHS and fingerprinting.

What We OfferA competitive salary of $15.70 hourly, plus mileage reimbursement, making this an attractive opportunity for those looking to make a positive impact in their community.
