The Medical Assistant II Certified provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare teams in an outpatient setting. This role requires certification and a strong foundation in medical assisting principles.
Key Responsibilities- Collect patient data, including vital signs and medical history.
- Assist providers with treatments, examinations, and procedures.
- Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
- Administer medications under provider direction.
- Perform tests, such as EKGs and eye exams, under provider direction.
- Review patient records for routine health screenings.
- Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
- Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
- Answer clinic phone and assist with in-basket tasks.
- Medical Assistant certification from a recognized organization.
- Basic Life Support Certification from AHA or ARC.
- At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
This role is employed by UNC Health, a private subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. The position is exempt from overtime and requires a full-time commitment.
