Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical, school, and in-home settings. This role functions as a primary care provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, and consultant, working under the supervision of a physician. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner supports the philosophies of the department of nursing as well as the medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and develop treatment plans for children and families
Provide psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families
Function as a primary care provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, and consultant
Work under the supervision of a physician to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Current California Nurse Practitioner License
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Furnishing number, State of California (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
DEA license for position that require the writing of scheduled medications (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
Medicare Billing Number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) - (must obtain within 6 months of employment)
Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing
2 years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area
Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
Bilingual
Compensation:
The expected hiring range for this position is $58.38 to $80.27. Children's Specialists of San Diego is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable. We demonstrate this commitment by conducting regular market reviews to remain competitive with organizations of similar size in the healthcare sector. The range listed above does not represent the full salary range for the position but is the expected hiring range for qualified candidates. Compensation decisions consider a variety of factors including experience, education, licensure, unique skillsets, organizational need, and internal equity.
