Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation & Oncology Therapist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our radiation therapy department, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and deliver accurate radiation therapy treatment courses to patients as prescribed by physicians.
  • Position patients correctly using proper immobilization devices.
  • Identify and utilize beam modifying devices, such as wedges, bolus, electron cones, lead blocks, and compensation devices.
  • Calculate and deliver treatment doses as prescribed.
  • Assist in the evaluation of treatment courses and plans accordingly to avoid any interruption in patient treatment plans.
  • Document pertinent information to facilitate patient setup, including tattoos, photos, localizations, dose calculations, irregular field tracings, immobilization devices, and more.
  • Amend any charting errors in accordance with hospital and departmental procedures under supervision.
  • Perform routine quality assurance checks as outlined by machine manufacturers and departmental physicists.
  • Recognize and report any irregular patient symptoms to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in radiation therapy.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in radiation therapy.
  • Specialized certifications as needed.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Shift Details

Varied days, 7am-8pm.

The salary range for this position is $79,880-$136,340/year.
