As a Nurse Practitioner, PRN, you will work under the supervision of a physician to provide quality treatment, referral, and follow-up care in a medical or hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform health histories, physical exams, individual and group health education.
- Order diagnostic laboratory tests and radiological tests, including special testing such as CTs, MRIs, ultrasound, and contrast studies with physician approval.
- Interpret physical findings, lab and x-ray results, make diagnoses, and formulate and carry out treatment plans, prescribing medication in accordance with state licensing laws.
- Refer cases to immediate supervising physicians when patient conditions are complicated, exceed the Physician Assistant's limit of care or level of training.
- Provide emergency care to prevent the loss of life, limb, or eyesight.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant program approved by an accredited medical body.
- NCCPA certification and current Physician Assistant licensure in South Carolina.
- BLS certification.
