Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team at Mercy Health. As a key member of our sports medicine team, you will provide top-notch healthcare services to our athletic teams, ensuring the optimal physical fitness and well-being of our student-athletes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of injuries and conditions, taking appropriate follow-up steps to ensure safe and proper care.
  • Develop and implement routine, preventive, and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and enhance overall physical fitness.
  • Provide practice and game/event coverage for assigned areas, responding to medical emergencies and providing assessment, stabilization, and first aid as needed.
  • Make recommendations for athletic participation and return-to-sport guidelines, ensuring the safe and successful return of athletes to competition.
  • Collaborate with sports medicine providers, physicians, and other allied health professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Athletic Training.
  • Licensed as an athletic trainer in WI, IL, or both, if required.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.
  • BOC certification.
Working Conditions

This is a medium-strength work position, requiring the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
