Pharmacy Technician

ChristianaCare is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Deepwater, New Jersey.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to assist our pharmacists in providing timely and efficient pharmaceutical care to our patients. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for filling patient prescriptions, data entry, insurance billing, and labeling and packaging medications for pharmacist verification.

• Fills patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance billing, and labeling and packaging, for pharmacist verification.
• Assists pharmacists in providing timely, efficient, cost-effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care to patients.
• Makes medication credit and charge adjustments via the computer system.
• Ensures any extra medication is returned to stock.
• Reorders medications in short supply to restock the pharmacy.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Answers telephone and greets personnel coming into the pharmacy in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Provides necessary information regarding patient drug orders.
• Refers problems and drug information inquiries to the pharmacist as required.
• Orients and trains new pharmacy personnel.

We require a high school diploma or equivalent and previous outpatient pharmacy experience. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is also required. Applicants enrolled in a Pharm D Program or a 2-Year Associates Program or 4-Year Bachelor Program in Health Sciences Majors are encouraged to apply and will be required to achieve PTCB Certification in 1-Year of Employment.
