Key Responsibilities:

As a Systems Engineer at Star Catcher Industries, you will lead the development, integration, and testing of complex space systems, including spacecraft and satellites. Your expertise will be crucial in planning, designing, and verifying system performance requirements, ensuring compatibility, and optimizing system architecture for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, and certification.

You will work closely with a cross-functional team to integrate systems, ensuring that materials are compatible with design specifications and operational requirements. Your attention to detail and ability to create and maintain detailed documentation of system designs, testing procedures, and project status will be essential in ensuring transparency and compliance.

Additionally, you will manage project timelines, resources, and budgets related to systems engineering tasks and support business development efforts for proposals/bids.

Ideal Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in systems engineering, in an aerospace manufacturing environment or other relevant industry experience.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the capability to develop innovative solutions to advanced engineering challenges.
  • Experience leading the development of space systems for challenging environments and missions.
  • Experience with MBSE (Model Based System Engineering) and NASA/DoD lifecycle reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR).
  • Experience with requirement tracking tools and familiarity with configuration management practices.
Desired Skills:
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interface with the team and organization and prioritize tasks, projects, and personnel from a variety of disciplines.
  • Possesses a broad background in systems engineering and experience using software tools for performing complex analyses (Excel, MatLab, custom tools).
