Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter Community Liaison

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our community team as a Community Liaison. This role will involve providing high-quality interpretation services to Deaf and hearing individuals in various settings.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both in American Sign Language (ASL) and English. They will be able to effectively interpret between ASL and spoken English, and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide interpretation services between ASL and spoken English
  • Work effectively in a team environment and provide support to colleagues
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills and maintain a respectful and professional attitude
  • Enhance interpreting skills through continuing education and training
  • Maintain compliance with national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
  • Work with intern students or provide mentoring when assigned
  • Be prompt and prepared for each interpreting engagement
  • Flexible with assignment changes
  • Ability to use technology for accurate reporting for billing, scheduling, and service evaluation
