Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Pathology Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and insurance verification of consult cases.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and insurance verification of consult cases
- Accomplish accessioning of specimens according to approved protocols
- Documentation of materials received for all consult cases
- Communication with clients and BWH Pathology staff
- Initiation and maintenance of communication with supervisor regarding service issues and complex cases
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
- Knowledge and use of intermediate medical terminology
- Experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting preferred
- PowerPath and EPIC knowledge preferred, but not required
- Understanding of billing operations required
- Understanding and use of intermediate medical terminology
- Phone skills: Ability to use phone system and communicate with clients
- Customer Service and Verbal skills: Ability to interpret information and communicate in a professional manner
- Organization skills: Ability to manage work processes and sort and alphabetize
- Writing skills: Ability to correspond and communicate with others clearly and effectively
