Commonpoint Queens is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Instructor to join our Opportunity Youth Program team. As an HSE Instructor, you will play a critical role in providing contextualized instruction in ELA, Social Studies, Science, and Math to an opportunity youth population.
Job Summary:The HSE Instructor will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans, facilitating instruction, and assessing student progress. You will work closely with the Director of Education to ensure that students receive high-quality instruction and support to achieve their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of opportunity youth
- Facilitate instruction in Math and Science, using a variety of methodologies to engage students
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and staff
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies
- Provide support and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic and career goals
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a comparable field
- Minimum of three years of experience teaching young adult learners
- Knowledge of ABE and GED curricula, testing procedures, and requirements
- Demonstrated ability in youth development and education
- A competitive salary range of $50,000 - $55,000
