**Job Summary:**
Christus Health is seeking a skilled Laboratory Operations Specialist - Medical Science to join our team. This role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and reporting results.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lab Operations: Perform all routine and complicated laboratory procedures in the assigned section, ensuring adherence to quality control programs and protocols.
- Instrumentation Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment, making minor repairs as necessary.
- Cross-Training: Cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed to ensure efficient workflow and skill development.
- Quality Control: Ensure the laboratory's quality control program is properly followed, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Results Calculation: Calculate, enter, and/or verify results of laboratory procedures, utilizing the Laboratory Information System.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation (42 CFR 493).
- No experience required for graduates of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by NAACLS, or other organizations approved by HHS.
**Estimated Salary Range:** $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.
