Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Support:
    • Greet patients warmly, respond to their queries, and provide information on procedures, fees, and follow-up appointments.
    • Complete patient registration, handle phone calls, and maintain accurate records in our electronic health record system.
    • Assist clinicians with preparing patients for exams, performing vital signs, and administering injections as required.
    • Provide STI, birth control, HIV, PEP/PrEP, and GAC education as needed, promoting patient empowerment and informed decision-making.
    • Participate in referral and follow-up processes, working closely with clinicians and health center managers to ensure seamless care transitions.
    • Release and request medical records in accordance with policy and protocol.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA and CLIA guidelines.
  • Surgical Support:
    • Support physicians during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling equipment as necessary.
    • Prepare patients for surgery, including obtaining informed consent and completing necessary forms.
    • Assist with specimen collection, preparation, and storage.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; certificate or professional training in healthcare and/or experience in an OB/GYN, family planning, or healthcare center setting is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building trust and rapport with patients, clinicians, and colleagues.
    • Basic clerical and math skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sensitivity when dealing with patients' personal and reproductive health information.
    • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and Saturdays, with occasional overtime as needed.
