About the Role: We are seeking a Medical Donations Coordinator to join our team in Earlysville, VA. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by coordinating blood donations and supporting the American Red Cross mission.
Job Summary: As a Medical Donations Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting with every step of the blood collection process, including transporting and setting up equipment at donation sites, creating a welcoming environment for donors, and ensuring the safe collection of blood donations. You will also collaborate with your team to meet goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Donor Engagement: Take the time to personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with your teammates to create a friendly and welcoming environment that encourages repeat donations.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure that the blood collected meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
- Equipment Setup and Tear Down: Assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites, including driving Red Cross vehicles.
What You'll Need: To succeed in this role, you'll need excellent customer service skills, effective verbal communication, and a current, valid driver's license with a good driving record. You should also be physically able to lift, push, or pull heavy weights and adapt to long, irregular hours.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience, leadership experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
