Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our Transportation-Construction Management Practice in the Austin, TX area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the field inspection of roadway and bridge transportation projects, as well as the internal workings of a satellite office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and review field conflicts
  • Review and respond to RFIs and change orders
  • Develop traffic control plan revisions
  • Review and develop construction schedule submittals
  • Client coordination and communication
  • Prepare and submit progress and final estimates
  • Check engineering calculations and interpret contract documents
  • Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Assist in the organization and assignment of inspection staff members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience with major road or bridge construction inspection
  • PE License required
  • Experience reviewing and responding to RFIs and change orders
  • Ability to assist with and resolve field issues and ensure inspection quality
  • Valid Driver License with a good driving record
  • Ability to obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time frames
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years' experience working in Construction Field Engineering
  • Experience working on FDOT projects
  • Possess a can-do attitude and willingness to take on challenges
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with guidance from the PM
  • Experience with Microstation, Bluebeam, and/or P6 scheduling software
