As a Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by collaborating closely with Project Managers and Superintendents. Your responsibilities will include managing daily operations, facilitating communication among team members, and overseeing the review and processing of submittals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular communication with the jobsite supervisor and Field Engineer to address issues and provide daily updates.
- Prepare change orders for integration into Procore Construction Software, ensuring accurate updates to purchase orders and contracts.
- Engage in project procurement activities, including writing scope sheets and negotiating with vendors under the guidance of senior management.
- Review and approve Requests for Information (RFIs) generated by the Field Engineer or create and distribute RFI inquiries as necessary.
- Prepare and send submittals to architects and engineers for compliance review, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Track the status of returned submittals and manage follow-up actions based on feedback received.
- Conduct bi-weekly meetings with subcontractors and prepare agendas for these discussions.
- Document meeting minutes for owner meetings and review drafts from the Field Engineer for subcontractor meetings.
- Adapt to additional responsibilities as required by project contracts or client specifications.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in construction management, covering the full duration of projects.
- Prior experience as a Field Engineer or in a related role is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
