Compensation

The starting compensation for this role is between $56,000 to $77,000 per year, depending on relevant experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Job Description

As an Education Specialist, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop teaching skills through direct instruction, observation, and collaboration with experienced teachers and school leaders. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Observing Master Teachers to improve instructional techniques and classroom management;
  • Meeting regularly with an instructional coach to implement feedback on lessons and instruction;
  • Assisting teachers with instruction, assessments, grading, and other classroom responsibilities;
  • Providing one-on-one and small group tutoring daily, and small group intervention and student support;

You will also have opportunities to participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions, events, and trips. As a member of our team, you will be expected to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues, and participate in professional development opportunities throughout the year.
