About the Role

  • Perform comprehensive initial examinations and evaluations to establish impairment diagnoses, prognoses, and plans of care for patients with basic rehabilitation needs in various settings.
  • Provide personalized therapy interventions consistent with examination results, involving patients and relevant others in planning, implementation, and assessment of care plans.
  • Re-examine patients as needed to evaluate progress or changes in status, modifying care plans accordingly or discontinuing services when necessary.
  • In consultation with multidisciplinary teams, plan for patient discharge, considering achievement of anticipated goals and expected outcomes, and arrange for appropriate follow-up or referral.
  • Communicate and document all aspects of patient management, including examination results, diagnosis, prognosis, care plans, interventions, response to interventions, barriers to progress, changes in patient status, re-examination, and discharge/discontinuation of intervention, with members of the care team as indicated.
  • Supervise and direct the patient care activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers.
  • Manage schedules to accommodate varying census and patient loads, informing management of any issues with caseload management.
  • Attend team meetings, effectively communicating patient status using medical records or other treating therapists to ensure sufficient knowledge of cases.
  • Engage in individual professional development activities.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of physical therapy, with a minimum Bachelor's Degree (required) or DPT.
  • An active Maryland PT license is required.
  • Prior experience in site-specific settings is preferred.
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The estimated salary range for this position is $34.58 - $51.87 per hour, depending on location and experience.
  • Per diem workers are required to work a minimum of 2 weekday shifts per month, each shift lasting 4-6 hours.
  • Hospital orientation requires 3 full weekdays, followed by department orientation for the remainder of the week.
