The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and providing total nursing care for residents. This position requires a strong leader who can supervise and guide clinical staff members to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Assess and document resident conditions and nursing needs to ensure accurate and timely care.
- Implement physicians' orders and administer medications, treatments, and IVs as required.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs to ensure they meet the highest standards of care.
- Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with physicians to perform special tests and procedures within the scope of state-specific Nursing Practice Act.
- Ensure efficient use of supplies and maintain equipment in a safe and clean manner.
- Record and report pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents to ensure their well-being.
- Coordinate nursing care for residents scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
- Interview applicants and recommend hires, and participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
- Valid RN license in the state employed.
- Valid CPR certification.
- One year of nursing experience preferred.
