We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical and Software Test Engineer Intern to join our Factory Test team in Long Beach. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating test assets in our facilities.
Your primary focus will be on the electrical hardware and automation supporting test operations across our rocket factory. You will work closely with our Data and Control System (DACS) group to develop and implement advanced control and data acquisition systems for various test stands.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop advanced control and data acquisition systems for test stands, including panel layouts, power and load analysis, fabrication drawings, and instrumentation lists.
- Solve technical challenges across various timeframes, complexities, costs, and long-term impacts.
- Support test operations and perform related improvements to existing test stands.
- Develop and optimize software used to test and launch Terran R.
- Current undergraduate or graduate student earning a degree in electrical, computer, software, aerospace, or mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Solid electrical fundamentals and basic knowledge of common instrumentation, pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTD, flow meters, accelerometers, strain gauges, and load cells.
- Experience with software development processes, including source control, bug tracking, and design documentation.
- Experience in C/C++ and/or Python.
