Agemark Senior Living Maintenance Supervisor Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at The Kensington in Hastings, NE. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys interacting with seniors and ensuring the community's safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.

Job Summary:

  • Oversee maintenance operations, including repairs, touch-ups, and improvements to resident rooms and common areas.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to maintenance requests from residents, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Director to identify and prioritize big repairs, upgrades, or replacements, always prioritizing residents' well-being.
  • Assist new residents with their move-in needs by preparing their rooms and providing support during the transition process.
  • Ensure residents feel valued and comfortable by being approachable, friendly, and helpful.
  • Work closely with contractors on maintenance tasks for critical systems like HVAC, boilers, and plumbing, ensuring seamless operations for residents.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and assist with emergencies, such as fires, medical issues, or accidents.
  • Participate in community activities, support family events, and contribute to fostering a warm, community-centered atmosphere.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information, upholding their privacy and dignity.
  • Coordinate contractors, run fire and tornado drills, and maintain accurate maintenance records, keeping annual inspections on track.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in maintenance, construction, or general contracting.
  • A passion for interacting with people and bringing a positive attitude to the workplace.
  • Excellent communication skills – being cordial and helpful with seniors, staff, and visitors is essential.
  • Experience with building codes, safety procedures, and systems like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • A willingness to go above and beyond to make residents feel at home.
  • Flexibility to handle various tasks and be available for occasional weekend work when needed.
