Clinical Dietitian Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at the State of North Carolina. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing on-going, in-depth nutritional assessments of patients who are at increased nutritional risk and developing, implementing, and reviewing nutrition care plans to ensure optimal nutritional status.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct patient counseling sessions, with a focus on patients with chronic or high-risk medical and/or psychiatric problems.
- Provide expert and resource professional services for program events related to health and nutrition issues within the facility.
- Plan and implement orientation and in-service programs for inter- and intra-departmental staff.
- Develop and maintain all menus and detailed recipes.
- Track inventory, including USDA requirements, and serve as the Hospital's liaison to the Leadership Team regarding food preparation, safety, and inventory issues.
- Provide leadership for the facility's successful accreditation through the CMS and JOINT Commission process.
- Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution, with current registration in good standing administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Or, Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution, with current registration in good standing administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), and two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting.
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable knowledge of the currently accepted principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics.
- Considerable knowledge of diet therapy and disease.
- Considerable knowledge of current trends and professional practices in clinical dietetics.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, design, and implement nutritional care plans for individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and teach nutrition, diet counseling, patient education, and communicating in a group setting.
