Surgical Technician PRN

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician PRN to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and manage instruments, equipment, and supplies for all surgical procedures
  • Maintain a sterile field while passing instrumentation during invasive procedures
  • Perform appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed
  • Assist in patient positioning, transporting, and obtaining needed equipment
  • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
  • Assist in prepping the room for the next patient
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technologist or Certificate of Completion of the Operating Room Specialist Course from the Military
  • A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required in the South Carolina hospitals and is strongly preferred in the Georgia and Florida hospitals
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
  • One to two years of OR experience is preferred
