As a Precast Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing project plans and specifications to identify precast items/systems to bid. Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze project plans and specifications to identify precast items/systems to bid.
  • Interface with engineering group to request quantity take-offs and bidding parameters.
  • Create and assemble project budgets and parameters for team review.
  • Prepare project proposals for bidding using company standards and guidelines.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings after award as required.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts/quotations for awarded projects.
  • Establish and maintain a good rapport with general contractors.
  • Encourage the use of precast concrete products to architects, engineers, and owners.
  • Develop a shop drawing/contract approval schedule to minimize delays on each project.
  • Entry-level sales functions for selected projects.
  • Must be willing to go to jobsite visits if required.
  • Perform other duties as generally or specifically assigned.
Requirements:
  • College education preferred, but not required.
  • Previous Sales/Estimating experience required.
  • Precast or construction industry experience preferred.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications manuals.
  • Drafting knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency at reading structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and basic commercial building design.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use a calculator and computer.
  • Ability to formulate and calculate mathematical expressions.
  • Proficient in MS Suite.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Working Conditions:
  • Requires both indoor and outdoor work.
  • Occasional overnight travel.
