Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our team at Southeast Health. As an LPN II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our medical/surgical and behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist registered nurses in data collection to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for medical/surgical and psychiatric patients.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Perform various activities related to the needs of adult and geriatric patients in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Actively accept, understand, and practice appropriate standards of medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing.
  • Contribute to the nursing assessment of the patient.
  • Document accurate and factual information on all records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment and critical thinking in all aspects of the nursing process.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions to problems.
  • Participate in the development, documentation, validation, and revision of the plan of care for assigned patients.
  • Respond to patient and non-patient emergencies according to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers as a team.
  • Seek resources for direction when necessary.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of the hospital and department.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current LPN license in the State of Alabama.
  • Minimum two years of hospital LPN experience for medical/surgical services or one year of psychiatric nursing experience for behavioral health services.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Successful completion of institutional basic EKG course.
  • Annual completion of competency requirements.
  • CPR certification.
