Key Responsibilities- Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, prices and quotations, complaints, and scheduling of deliveries and installations.
- Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales and build relationships.
- Obtain orders from customers and sales representatives; enter work order, credit return, return authorization, pick ticket, and service request; file paperwork accordingly.
- Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer needs.
- Manage schedules for projects by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and assigned customers.
- Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom, ensuring optimal inventory management.
- Research and resolve credits, returns, and late payments as needed.
- Check on back orders and resolve any outstanding issues, ensuring seamless customer experience.
- Handle special orders and advanced pricing, providing expert guidance to customers.
- Develop and grow professional relationships with customers, fostering long-term loyalty and satisfaction.
- Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems, providing timely and effective solutions.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of experience in the building material industry, with basic knowledge of product and application.
- 1-3 years of inside sales experience preferred.
- Ability to operate computer, calculator, and cash register.
- Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills, with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with inventory and inventory control.
- Ability to walk throughout yards, plants, and offices.
- Accountability - holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.
- Collaboration - building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
