Job Summary

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Pain Resource Nursing department at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide specialty health care services in both outpatient and acute care settings for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Provide care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination.
  • Provide inpatient and/or outpatient care, including preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative services, as well as critical care/intensive care medical management.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with specialization in area of practice.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges.
  • Appropriate credentialing through Medical Staff Services.
  • Prescriptive authority as appropriate, per medical staff service privileging process.
  • Certification by ANCC or AANP, licensing verification by the State Board of Nursing, search of the HSS, EPLS, and DEA systems.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.

  • Experience in an inpatient setting.
